We always find it really tricky to suggest anything as we are not qualified, and without knowing more about you is so hard. However, if you are new to running, it is normal to get some aches and pains, and stretching after a run etc is good, and I highly recommend yoga. If this persists I would seek some professional advice.

Thank you, I may look in to yoga as it’s sound like it would help.

Hey SMD13, talking as someone who’s back on the IC, my advice would be to go carefully, rest up and listen to your body! I came back too hard, too soon and am paying for it now. Doc thinks I’ve got a pinched nerve in my foot and a touch of sciatica. Having previously had 3 weeks off, I then stupidly did two 28 min runs. I’ve now been told I need another 3-6 weeks rest and possibly physio. Really frustrating but my own fault! I know we’re all different but I’m trying to save you from my own fate... Nip it in the bud and you’ll get back quicker. All the best, my friend! 😊🏃‍♀️🐢

Any advice on how to get started with yoga?

I would find out if any of the yoga teachers in your local area are doing classes online first e.g. via Zoom or similar. It’d be better to have a bit of live instruction regarding your posture and the strength of the pose you go into to start with. Otherwise there’s plenty on YouTube. Just listen to your body, know your limits and maybe even sit out poses that are too strong for you just now. Hope you get on well! 😊

Thinking local teacher means you’d have the option to join the class in future. 😊
