2 months post graduation and I have shin splints, I cut my run short and I'm currently walking home. I'm so angry and worried that resting (which I will have to do) will undo all my fitness 😭 I've been running 2 or 3 times a week anything from 20 mins to 40 and i did my first 5k last week...50 mins. I dont feel like I've over done it but I obviously have 😪 I'm not really sure what I want to C25K community to say, I just feel so cheesed off!!! I've come so far 😭😭😭

Have you had a gait analysis and got shoes fitted?

Yeah, at least 5 years ago now, gait analysis and recommend trainers. I had shin splints so went way back then. Sounds a long time but I hardly wore them, especially not for running so they don't look worn if that makes sense.

Maybe you need a physio?

I know it’s probably the usual advice but Ice stretching and I am about to try foam rolling? Let us know how you get on x

You know the answer already. Your body is warning you that it's too much for it.

If you are stretching before and after your training, using AT LEAST one day between runs for resting, not running too fast and using the correct shoes then maybe you're not ready for 5k.

Reduce your training a little and talk to a physio, IF you want to increase the distance. If not, then just take some rest and relax.

But stop doing what you are doing right now otherwise you can hurt yourself.
