I started my C25K journey on Sunday, it’s my W1R2 this evening, I’ve got to say I’m not looking forward to it, my thighs and calf’s are still painful but I suppose it’s got to be done. I had a hot bath last night and soaked for an hour or so I hope it helped.

Welcome to the forum and well done on getting started.

This guide to the plan is essential reading healthunlocked.com/couchto5...

and includes advice on minimising impact, stretching after every run, hydration and strengthening exercises, all of which will help.

Follow the link in the guide to the post about mental approach.............it makes a huge difference.

Enjoy your journey.

Well done for starting the program !

You are probably going to ache a little if you are not used to running.

Have you read the guide ?

'How to run couch to 5K'

There are links in this guide to warm up dynamic excercises and after run stretches ,

I would strongly suggest doing these to help avoid unnecessary aches and pains and of course to avoid injury .

Enjoy the program and remember to do the runs slowly ! 👍

👍😁

Well done on your start to C25k. Slow yourself right down during your runs, stretch once you reach home but whilst your muscles are still warm from your run and keep well-hydrated, drinking 2-3 litres even on rest days. All of this should help your legs recover faster between runs.

Happy running 😊
