Today it didn’t help that I really wasn’t in the mood for this run, as I have work, then a work party later that will go on until late, so waking up early this morning was slightly frustrating but decided to just man up and go as I couldn’t fit it anywhere else in the day. However, the biggest downfall was I forgot my warmup. Now, at the beginning of C25K I wasn’t doing any and managing but boy do you feel it if you start doing them and forget to do it one day, my muscles definitely struggled.
My new playlist which was 160-165BPM admittedly I didn’t feel much difference, but the songs really really threw me off. Mostly techno music which I really wasn’t into whatsoever (should have checked the whole playlist but knew some of the songs so thought I’d be fine) so that made me check my watch every few minutes for the first time in a while.
For the first time in this journey, the gremlins decided to give me a visit. It was difficult because the run itself wasn’t bad at all, done my average same pace for my easy day and done 30 minutes, but the mental side of it definitely hit me today and nearly only done 20 minutes running, but knew I had to pull through because the harder runs make the better runs all the sweeter
I’m going to revisit other 160-165BPM playlists to see other songs that are more in my area that motivate me, and for the next run, just hope for the best!
Happy Wednesday everyone

Wow that’s impressive considering, i totally understand those playlists i downloaded hits of the eighties thinking is know them, nope not one just a lot of noise
I totally get you! Happy Wednesday to you too!! I always underestimate how much difference it makes, just having songs that I like, or even If it’s just music that helps me keep a comfortable pace. Something can pop up on a playlist that I’d have previously thought of as too ‘mellow’ for running, but turns out to be perfect 😀 🎧 🏃♀️ 😁 Off to the gym shortly for my 1st spin class since MARCH ..............................😳 🚲🤪
Hi packers I really love spin, only started July 2018 at age 49. I’ve really missed it during lockdown. Songs on the radio make me go “that’s a spin song” and it makes me wish I was on the bike (see, the power of music again!), but Spin classes seem quite Marmite, love or hate! I have sporty (much fitter than me) friends who say they find it too hard. One of them does triathlons, so how can you not do a 45-min class?? He said he couldn’t do it, cos it’s indoors and static, and never went back for a 2nd class! Just shows how different we all are.
Downside- I know I’ll be saddle sore tomorrow, as I was this time 2 years ago, but it was really good to be back
well done for persevering! Those pesky gremlins do like to pop up from time to time! Sounds like you did well in spite of them! I agree - good music makes a world of difference!
Thank you! Definitely didn’t realise how important it was until it changed! I would, search around for dynamic run warm up. Never do static ones like you would in your cool down
