Ready, set.......no

Not quite sure how w1r1 is the beginners run. 4 attempts and can still only do 30 second slow jogs. Don't think I'll ever be a runner but maybe I can become a slow jogger that isn't passing out after 20 meters someday. Must keep trying. Luckily I'm an early bird so no one sees me ๐Ÿฅต

Well done for starting!

I wouldn't mind betting you are trying to go too quick ?

Are you slow enough that you could talk without gasping for breath ?

If not then you still need to be slower .

Having said that , week 1 is often quite tough for most people .

It certainly was for me !

Have a search on this site for ' Japanese slow jogging'

That will help !

Good luck and enjoy the program ๐Ÿ™‚๐Ÿ‘

Ok.just watched a video on Japan slow jog. Didn't realize going that slow would even count. Will try tomorrow, thanks

Oh good, glad you saw the video !

But yes, this program is not about speed , what it is doing is building a good foundation of strength and stamina , it's about finding a pace where you could hold a conversation .

Otherwise you would burn yourself out very quickly.

So absolutely, slow it down , then when you think it's too slow, slow it down even more ๐Ÿ˜

Good luck tomorrow ๐Ÿ‘

That is very definitely the speed at this stage! You'll be fine, good luck. Properly slow now!

Really dont worry, I was the same in the first week and tomorrow im doing w5r3 my first 20 minute run. You'll be surprised how quick you will advance. Just go at your own pace and if you have to do a week again then do it. I had do do the whole of w4 again. You will get there

Seriously I found wk1 the toughest I used the Japanese slow jogging from wk 3 am now about to do wk8 r3 tomorrow and never thought at week 1 I would make it but I have and I haven't had to repeat any of the runs. Trust the programe and go slow can work on speed later if you want once you've built up your stamina but whatever you do do not give up it is worth it and the hardest part of all is getting started and you have done that ๐Ÿ˜€ You will be amazed how quickly you progress.

Aww lovely - you must be going too fast..

At week 1 I could barely run for 20 seconds.. when I read a minute run I thought ha!... easy! But itโ€™s only then you realise just how long 1 minute is!

I was shocking!...

Iโ€™ve just graduated today and this plan has taken me from 20 seconds to 30 minutes! I swear itโ€™s magic...

find your slow and then slow down some more!

๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘ look forward to your posts ๐Ÿƒ๐Ÿฝโ€โ™€๏ธ

Hey! I just completed week one run 1 and thought I might die to start with!๐Ÿ˜‚And I was doing a slooow jog for the 60 second โ€˜ runsโ€™ you need to find a pace you can manage. Iโ€™ve done this before but never got past week 5 and this is my first attempt in 2 years after a nasty ankle injury so finger crossed! Hope you get there. Try it slow. ๐Ÿ˜Š
