I can’t believe I’m saying this, but this was my easiest run so far!! I got to 20 minutes and I was still so full of energy!! I knew I could’ve kept going to the 30 minute mark! I didn’t want to get too ahead of myself though, so decided I will try to run a little faster for the last 5 minutes.
I was focusing more on dodging the puddles- which can I just say where more lake size than puddle size🙈that I didn’t really have time to think about the run!😂I’m definitely becoming a lover of running in the rain, it really helps to keep my mind off the actual running, along with the aches and pains.
To anyone who may be struggling with the longer runs, all I can say is keep your pace SLOW AND STEADY. This was an absolute game changer for me, once I learnt to control my speed it was like the clouds parted and everything seemed easier (and more enjoyable)😂What went from a pure hate of running has now become a pure love of running!!

Meant to say that I have treated myself to a proper running watch with a heart rate monitor and loads of other features. It even has a virtual pacer which you can set to help you stick to a certain time. If my heart rate gets a bit high I back off the pace a bit. If my heart rate is too low I can increase the pace a bit. Has been an absolute godsend to me as it allows me to monitor what is happening to my body on each and every run. Links into my phone and plays music and records the route and statistics too with its own GPS. Can't recommend it highly enough....👍
I’ve actually been looking into getting one of those! Because I’ve been furloughed I didn’t want to buy anything due to the uncertainty of everything! However I said as soon as I’m back at work that is the first thing I am treating myself to! I’m back to work a week on Monday so I think it may be time to treat myself!🤣
Well I've got an android phone. Made by Huawei. And the watch is a Honor Magic watch 2 which is also made by Huawei. They link together via Bluetooth and a Huawei health app. Watch was very good value and a fraction of the price of some better known brands.
