Run 1 of Week 5 due today. Nervous but excited too. Something I've always experienced when I run is a burning throat sensation, like my throat is on fire. After the first run, now I'm fitter, it subsides. Why is this and any advice please on prevention? Thanks

I'm not sure it's the same, but I get something similar when I push too hard. My breathing gets faster, I'm breathing through my mouth, the throat gets drier and it hurts (That's my scientific explanation).
I also used to get this burning feeling in my throat when I ran. I don't know the cause I'm afraid but I am now starting week 9 and that feeling has gone! Well done for getting to week 5 - keep going and I'm sure as your body adapts to running further and more frequently, that sensation will disappear 😊
Thanks all for your advice. I have always drunk about 4 pints of water every day, more when I run. However, today I did have a pint of water just before running and it was definitely easier although it seems to also be easing with increased fitness.
