New Runner Hip pain

Hi everyone,

I have just completed week 2 and noticed my hips are in a bit of pain when walking afterwards, I have invested in trainers and do stretch afterwards. Has anyone had a similar issue in the early days? Should I just carry on through? Is it just getting used to a new movement? TIA.

Welcome 😊

Are you drinking enough? 2-3L every day is essential. If so could just be your body adjusting to the running. Keep and eye on it and if it gets too much then I’d see someone about it

There is advice in the guide to the plan on minimising impact, stretching after every run, hydration and strengthening exercises, all of which will help.

If it persists then consult your GP.
