Does anyone use a pre-workout powder drink? And if so do you have any recommendations for a good and safe one to use?

I don’t see as they’d help a 5k, they take some time to deliver the energy they hold... there’s strategies for when to take gels and drinks in events like marathons to deliver the boost when you really need it. I’ve done lots of 10ks and a HM and never felt I needed anything like these, but I have looked into them for marathons. Pre run there’s usually time to have a banana and then get ready.

I wouldn't waste your money on it. Most energy drinks are a mixture of sugar and caffeine. Protein drinks simply aren't necessary and the protein is just peed out again the next time you go to the loo.
Very important to stay hydrated though. 🤞
I think you’re right Speedy60, it’s funny you should say that, I’ve made a conscious effort to improve my hydration from today, I work in a busy office and I only have a few cups of tea and coffee throughout the day, but I’m drinking more water now, drank a large bottle today in work and had several glasses this evening.....thanks for your advice, much appreciated 👍
