What’s your jam?

I don’t mean your favourite song, or even the one you listen to the most, but what is the song that just makes you feel like “yeah, I got this” when you’re running?

Mine is “Do you love me” by The Contours (from Dirty Dancing)

When that comes on I just seem to find my stride instantly 💃🏼🏃🏼‍♀️

I am a oldie, the song that makes me run, even if I am out a walk is Keep on Running by the 1960's group, The Spencer Davies Group, yesterday it was played on my running Spotify app BUT I did not for once run while it was being played for 3 reasons.

1:-I had ran a 10K the previous day

2:-I was due to run a 5K the following day, which I did this morning.

3:-I had my old trainers on which could have caused me a injury, nevertheless it was tempting to run while that music 🎶 was being played.

I had to check with that one. Once I listened I knew it, just hadn’t known who it was by. Added

A lady called Jancanrun invited runners to compile a list of their favourite songs for running, I chose that track, I asked her to put that song on the Spotify list, it's now there, that's where I heard it yesterday when out for my walk, I go a lot of walks and listen to a lot of music, I have cycled for many years but not as often as I used to and now run as well, I never have music with me when cycling and recently I have not had any music while running either.

This is the only thing I listen to. Love the Rocky sound track. It definitely pushes me in the last few minutes when my body wants to quit but I refuse to give in.

Repentless by Slayer... but I do decide when it goes on... if my headphones are on I’m usually not listening to anything until the last few minutes.

I think I’d die if I tried to run to that right now 🤣🤣

I rarely try to match my music to my feet... on the odd occasion that I do listen to music for a whole run I have a problem as my musical tastes mean it’s going to push me too much, so I build the playlist with the fastest stuff from my music, then I don’t even try to keep up!

Love that song. I love associating music with memories. You’re going to get such a buzz every time you hear that song now

Definitely and it was a coincidence each time as my playlist was on shuffle! C25K magic?

Mine varies from the motors (late 70’s) wham, kylie, right up to Taylor Swift. I change it quite regularly but like to listen to something which would Normally get me on the dance floor after a beer or two...

I’m quite eclectic too. I tend to like individual songs rather than artists.

and here’s me thinking “it tricky” to run to “walk this way”

When I ran w5r3 (2o mins) I was listen to the radio and Tonights gonna be a good night by the Black eyed Peas came on . I was a couple of minutes from the end and this really pushed me on when I thought my legs were going to fall off!!

Ohh Chelsea dagger forgot about that, but it’d make me go too fast. One I like at the moment when running is ‘we’re not gonna take it’ by twisted sister. Get it stuck in my head all day though when it comes round on my playlist.

I listen to a Apple Music Dance playlist when I run and just hit shuffle, I don’t know what it is but when the Dua Lipa track, Physical comes on it gives me an extra push 😊

Michael Buble “It’s a Beautiful Day”, Alice Cooper “Poison” and Ed Sheeran “Castle on the Hill”. A pretty mixed bag but they all do it for me!

Quite a few different ones, but “do you love me” is definitely on my list and always makes me smile when I hear it! The other ones are for example “crazy little thing called love” by Queen or “hit the road Jack” by Ray Charles 😀
