National Shite Day - not so great for running to

Just because nobody is going to believe me that there's such a song, here's proof that there is. It would make a good song for demotivation on days where you wanted to discourage yourself from something.

My friend Kevin, the late great John Peel and now you are the third person I know who likes HMHB.

You're still waiting to decide whether you're going to one day become the fourth, or do you remain skeptical of the plans to turn National Shite Day or Seal Clubbing into the great symphonies of our age?

Much as I revered Peel, nothing on Earth or off it is ever going to persuade me of the merits of HMHB, The Fall or Teenage Fanclub.

And yet somehow they did still manage to produce the occasional masterpiece like National Shite Day. :-)

Hahaha HMHB :D :D My husband has some of their stuff. 'She's Got Dickie Davis Eyes' always raises a smile. Haven't heard this one. Particularly like the line:

'Over head a rainbow forms.....in black and white.'

Yes, the song titles are inspired, 'Sign on you crazy diamond' Is another goodun, though I've never been convinced by the songs themselves.

Without HMHB there would be absolutely no humour or satire in the music industry. Who couldn't love classics like "Lord Hereford's Knob" ?

I love HMHB - they get a bit unfairly pigeonholed as a "comedy band" sometimes but there's a lot more to Nigel's lyrics than just being funny.

Well there's definitely the shadow of something dark in the song posted.
