Hi I have just joined this forum and starting week 7 of c25k. Where I live there are hills so most of my previous runs have involved hills. Whilst I don’t enjoy going up I have enjoyed the relief of the downhill sections. For my fist run on week 7 I thought I should go somewhere flat to complete this but weirdly I found it difficult staying flat all the time has anyone else experienced this?

Welcome to the forum and well done on your progress.
This guide to the plan is essential reading healthunlocked.com/couchto5...
and includes advice on minimising impact, stretching after every run, hydration and strengthening exercises, all of which will help.
Give me hills any day.
A few years ago I headed off to a dead flat riverside route to set a 10k reference time, only to stop after 7k out of sheer boredom.
Hills give you lots of little victories as you conquer each summit, however humble it may be. They also build strength and stamina.
Enjoy your journey.

Ha ha...this made me smile. I had to practice on flat before my first HM, as I was so slow, (also running with other people), as I am a lone runner.... I run faster if there are hills !
One of my forum friends described the feeling as if you were a plane that was on a runway that could not quite take off!
Husband says it is because I put more effort into running up something!
Either way, hills really are great and do really pay dividends in the strength and stamina field.
Good news is. the more different kinds of running you do, the more the running evolves.. I can run a decent pace on a flat terrain now, and I can run for a very long time too without getting tired
So try some flat but carry on with those hills, and as you say, coming downhill... wheeeeeee!
I love it
This may give you a giggle..if you have time to read it
