Leg Lickin’ Good?

I have an 11 year old Cocker Spaniel dog, who in mind would love to join me on my morning runs, but in body, just rolls over and goes back to sleep. However when I return from each run she goes crazy, but this is not because she is pleased to see but because she has discovered that she loves to lick my sweaty (apologies) legs! The second I step through the door, she is there, tongue attached to my legs and when I tell her ‘no’ she just looks at me with a strange glazed look, which seems to sort of say “I would stop if I could but you don’t know how good this is”. So, now when I return home it’s a race to get into the shower whilst detaching the dog from my legs - not as easy as it sounds. Sorry, bit of an odd post I know, but just wondering if any other dog owning runners have experienced this or is it just some strange delight of my own crazy pooch? 🐕 👅 🤢

🤣🤣 yep except I wear leggings so my border terrier licks my hands, arms neck and ears (loves just behind my ears bluuuurgh😖).

I would kneel down to give him cuddles when I got home..... that soon stopped

....... borders like to jump, so you can imagine my dash to the shower 🤣another workout in itself.

Sometimes he gives me a massive guilt trip by sulking.....because he too would like to go on a run, unfortunately his maximum running time is 8mins and ends up refusing to go further, on those days I waltz to the shower 🤭

😂😂Glad I am not the only person that has to run the gauntlet of avoiding their dog when they get home. At least my dog doesn’t jump, that’s a small advantage!

When I started C25K I did try taking my dog with me, but she refused to do anything other than a fast walking pace. Mind you maybe she was trying to tell me I was running slowly 😊
