Would it make a difference if I have a 3 day gap between starting weeks? I normally leave 2 anyway?

I think that whatever works for you is the right thing

In week 7 I took three rest days in between runs instead of my usual 1 - 2 days because I had several aches and did not want to risk a real injury which might have stopped me from exercising for weeks. For me this worked out really well, the hurting bones/ muscles recovered and the following runs were easier. So I would recommend to listen to your body: If you feel you need an additional rest day or if you just cannot run on your usual day due to other commitments don't stress yourself but do whatever works best for you. 😃

I discovered pushing myself to run every other day made me miserable. I now listen to my body and if I am tired and ache I don’t run. I am not sure if that is right but it made me persevere and I am now on week 9 😀.

My attitude is do what is best for you.

You’ve spent seven weeks building stamina, muscle and condition. You will have noticed this, both in terms of how you feel and how long you can sustain your run. You will not lose any of that stamina, muscle or condition as a result of a three day gap. You will not hamper your continued improvement through W8 and W9 by leaving an extra day between runs. You will do yourself harm if you leave too short a gap.

Basically, you’ve done great to get to where you are and you’ll still do great if you take an extra rest da here and there.

Happy running!

I am on week 7 and find I need a bit more 'rest' between runs but it pays off in the end. Listen to your body and you will get there! :)

I really struggled with last run of W7, planned not to run for at least 4 days. I waited a whole week but on Saturday knew 'today is the day' and had no trouble completing the first run of W8.
