Knee Pain

I've gone from someone who couldn't run for more than 20 seconds to be able to run 25 minutes, yes slowly but it is running. However as my runs increase I'm finding after the run a sharp pain on the top of the right knee which goes away over the next 24 hours. I've looked at the exercises but I wondered if anyone could recommend something specifically for this type of knee pain. I really want to sort this out as I am loving the feeling of being able to run and my fitness levels are really improving. Any advice would be appreciated.
