I’m nowhere near 5k after completing the programme. Anyone else get to the end and not managed it?

I just finished it and I’m nowhere near either. However, I think it’s pretty common. From what I’ve read on this forum, most people don’t reach a 30 min 5k when they first finish so you’re not alone :)

Here’s a poll showing the distance most people achieved :)

Loads and loads and loads of folk never reach 5K in 30 minutes in nine weeks or ever..... They run triathlons and marathons, but never make that 5K :)

We have had so many posts and polls on this :)

The name C25K is a catchy one.. Cto30 minutes, not so :)

You are doing wonderfully, simply run and enjoy:)

I graduated yesterday and in my last two runs I covered 4.8 and 4.7 kilometres in the 30 minutes. This is the second time I’ve done Cto5k and it was similar last time too. To reach 5k some of us just need longer than 30 minutes at this stage. Last time I did park runs afterwards and did do 5k in 30 minutes later.

Just keep on running. I was the same as were lots of people on this forum. I've built my running time up slowly over the last three months and I'm still slow but running 6/7 K now. The important thing is you are moving and not sitting back on the couch. Well done for graduating, that's a celebration in itself 🏃🏻🏃🏻🎉🎉

No I've never run it in 30. But once I graduated, I went off to do a parkrun, it took me 38 minutes. I've got to 32 minutes and I don't think I'll get any faster. Not sure I'll ever repeat that time either!

Me neither. I'm on my 4th consolidation run & I've been extending my runs to 35 mins & I get to 4ish km. The main thing is to make running a habit. There's a post somewhere with stats of graduates & the vast majority of us do not manage 5k in 30 mins!

My fastest 5k is 40 minutes so I’m nowhere near either 😊 Just being able to run for 40 minutes is huge for me so I don’t worry about the distance. Congrats on finishing the programme!

3.66k on my second consolidation run this morning. Not 5k but 30 mins and for the first time I enjoyed every second. That’s worth more than distance . I know 5k will take me roughly 40 mins and that’s my goal for end of June. I’m in no hurry x

Very few make 5k, look at the stats, around 10% can do 5k in 30 mins at the end. I have done it once since graduating 2 years ago.

Question to graduates who have successfully completed 5k or are near the end of the programme (weeks 7 plus)

Do you still have a rest day? ie not run alternate days?OR do you sometimes do 2 days in a row?

I did it! And I know that completing the couch to 5k is the beginning of this wonderful journey.

I completed couch to 5k yesterday. Kept it all to my self for a day. A special gift just for me....
