Completed W5R3 this morning, feeling pretty chuffed with myself, never thought I’d be able to say I ‘ran’ for 20 mins! However.... I’m still getting a sore calf (right one, left ok?!) I’m hydrated, do stretches before and after and now use a foam roller, is it the way I run..(I’ve checked shoes and definitely wear out the back outer part first ) I’m taking the weekend off and will start W6 Monday or Tuesday to rest it. any advice much appreciated. thanks all

Congratulations on completing run 3 of week 5, that is a milestone run with C25K, onwards and upwards to week 6 run 1 but be careful about that run as it catches out some people with the interval walks and runs after the non stop 20 minutes of W5R3 which you have just ran 🏃🏾 😊

Could be the gait, try concentrating on getting those feet landing flat and under your body rather than heel striking. What surface are you running on? If you’re taking the same route on a route with a camber, this can cause asymmetrical issues, and all you have to do is alternate which way you run the route, or switch to the other side of the camber. While we runners are renowned hypochondriacs, asymmetrical pains are a little cause for concern so a couple or three days off is probably a good thing.
Great job on the run... enjoy your weekend... slow and steady into week 6 and you got this.
