Hi there. I’d like to encourage all slow - or very slow runner’s like me - that it’s not the speed with which you run but the endurance and health benefits that you can be proud of.
I completed C25k last Wednesday, 27 May 2020, and decided not to consolidate on the 30 minute runs but to go for the elusive 5k. My first post Graduation run was for 35 minutes and this gave me the encouragement that my stamina could take more, so I willed myself to keep running on and achieved the full 5k!! This took me 43 minutes at an average speed of 4.35 mph but I did it, and have repeated the same since. It would be boorish to moan about the time (although I did) so my next goal is to improve my speed.
I have learned that for those of us who are goal focussed we just need to lighten up a little, be proud of what we have achieved, enjoy the freedom running brings, and know that with practice and perseverance we will get there in the end; slowly but surely does it...
