Wow that's brilliant. I ve got recipe books and cook a few meals from there. Picked up lots of bad habits during lockdown, been working part time as Deputy manager in a nursery until this wk when I m back full time which I hope will help, more of a routine.

Well done for running anyway. I am on Week 8 and also need to lose weight. I recently read a book called The Last Diet. It’s not an eating plan but it helps you change your mindset and work out what ways of eating suit you. Most of us already know which of our habits are healthy and unhealthy, it’s sticking to the healthy ones that we struggle with. I feel more hopeful about controlling my weight than I have for a long time. Good luck x

Well done over the past 6 weeks, keep going.

Running will increase your fitness but won't necessarily do much for your weight. Weight loss comes from the kitchen, the old adage of you can't outrun a bad diet. Before you start a diet or healthy eating plan or weightwatchers etc you need to actually see what you currently eat. Keep a record of everything you eat, be really strict with yourself without being judgmental; as in record everything, no one else needs to see this other than you, there are apps available for your phone/tablet/online whichever platform you prefer, or even a simple pen and paper food diary. When you what and how much you eat then you can start looking at ways of regulating your intake, whether it's intermittent fasting, weightwatchers points, slimming world or simple calorie counting. Find a system of eating that works for you, keep your diary, track your food and so long as the amount you eat is less than the amount you burn then the weight should come off. If you couple this with a garmin/fitbit with a heart rate monitor then you should get a relatively accurate measure of calorie burn.
