I just can not do the running in the heat thing - I don't enjoy it and it takes me ages to get rid of the beetroot face π₯΅ , so it was an early start this morning for the second run of roseabi's amazing plan.
Today's run was for 30 minutes and it was so quiet out that I didn't mean anyone at all during my run until I was nearly home. I took my pace right down from Monday's run and embraced my inner-snail π and covered 3.7km during my 30 minutes. I felt I could have gone a little further as I came towards the end, which bodes well for the final run of the first week, as that steps up to 35 minutes. I'm liking this plan π !
Happy running everyone πββοΈπ. Keep safe in the sun βΊοΈ
Glad you're enjoying the plan Delly-dot π. It's early morning running for me too. I don't do hot runs π₯΅. You'll crack that 35 minute run this week. Are you going to repeat the week or move on to 40 min run next week?? π€
Morning! Iβm going to repeat as 35 minutes feels a big step up for me just now. I was surprised how much I enjoyed the 20 minute faster paced run so Iβm looking forward to running that again. It mixes it up a bit πππΌ.
Happy running my friend, Iβm enjoying reading how you are getting on. Keep up the good work! π€
Well done that sounds a great run. I just can't do the heat at all, got to be early for me or I wouldn't go. I'm intrigued what plan are you following is it on Bridge to 10k?
It's a great plan devised by roseabi which she shared with Allbarron on the May Consolidation Club post and I tagged into the chat. The best way to describe it is as a bridge to the Magic 10k plan for those not yet running 5k, and Allbarron now is and is doing brilliantly - proof that it works. I asked roseabi to explain a bit more and she mapped out more weeks for me and planned it to run into the Magic 10k plan (click on the link and it should take you straight to the plan).
Thanks for the link. It looks a sensible way to increase your running time and I like the idea of a 20 minute run as at the moment I don't fancy 3 longer runs. I was planning on trying my 5k route tomorrow and see how I get on. But it after that I'll give it a go.
Thank you Nilsam. roseabi's plan is a great stepping stone towards the Magic 10k. I'm clearly a one for routine and structure and not as free and easy as I thought! The things you learn about yourself doing C25k...... ππ
Ahh a fellow beetroot face π I too have that wonderfully rosy complexion!
I'm just getting back in to running and finding early mornings better to beat the heat. I prefer running on cool dark evenings that hide my visible signs of exertion/success/effort. Delete as applicable!
I get hay-fever too, but generally suffer worse with the tree pollen, so mine is settling down a bit now thank goodness. Streaming eyes and a beetroot face is not a good look!
