I don’t usually write much on social media but this forum is so supportive and helpful I thought I’d share my little experience.
. I hope I’m in the right place. Did this run yesterday I am still surprised I can run for 30 mins. Some runs are easier than others. Usually at about 10 mins the gremlins start to talk and I try to remember what Laura said and fight them off. At 20 mins I am much more settled but start to flag a bit before the end but I think it’s more in the head I ran 4.79 km. Today I did ‘the hill’ it’s not really that steep or long but I am scared of it , it used to be ok when I was walking and running, but don’t want it to cause me to stop before 30 mins so I avoid it but find I can do it if I give myself 2 days rest instead of 1. I persevere because I read that the hill should give me more strength. I expect I will make slow progress because of my age but I am enjoying the experience.
I am back doing a little open water swimming again which is why I started C5K in the first place so I would have at least some fitness to swim.
I have enjoyed the running so far so hope to carry on doing both swimming and running.
Thanks for all the tips. They have been very useful.
