Blurred vision after run

So after my last two runs which were week 6 I've come home, sat down and then suddenly got blurred vision so everything is really wobbly and unfocused. My husband thinks it's because I'm dehydrated as I'm not a huge water drinker. Does that sound like the cause? (He is a PE teacher so I should probably listen to him haha). And has anyone got any tips to make me drink more? I always find I feel sick if I drink before a run!

I’m not good at keeping hydrated in fact I’m terrible. I’m beginning to slowly improve by keeping a 500ml bottle with me and sipping a small amount of water often - all the time not just before you run. On every day not just run days and then a small drink before I start a run - I definitely feel better for being more hydrated. I’m still learning and yes I find it hard to drink so much water but I’m up to around managing 1000 ml in a day now.

It could be dehydration. As a runner you need to drink 2.5 -3 litres of fluid each and every day, running or not, as mentioned in the guide.

This stresses the crucial part good hydration pays in running healthunlocked.com/couchto5... and explains that it is the fluid intake in the 24 hrs before your run that is crucial not a quick drink just before running.

Try full hydration and if that doesn't solve the problem then I would visit your GP or optician.

Try to have a drink 30 mins before you run...& then drink when you finish. I can eat or drink before I run or I’d be sick ... but I have a cuppa 30 mins before I run ..xx

Agree with what everyone is saying. It probably is dehydration. I find keeping a big bottle of water beside me all day that I surprise myself with how often I get up to refill it. Another thing I have a problem with though, is low blood pressure. So am mindful to be hydrated, have half a banana before I set off for energy, and lots of water as soon as get back in and allow myself a good cool down / settle down, eat my breakfast, instead of instantly in a hot shower or bath (which further lowers blood pressure). Only when I am really balanced again do I get in the shower/bath. But like Ian has said, if all this is not happening then definitely go see the GP.
