To run or not to run during a cold?

I have been fighting a cold/sinus infection for about a week now. I have ran through the sniffles before no problem, but this is kicking my butt! I have no energy and I wear down quick. Today should be repeat of week 7 day 2, but I am thinking of seeing how the day goes, and if I still feel rough maybe just do a walk, if i feel better I am going to attempt it! I just hate to lose momentum with the program...

How does everyone handle these situations? Do you just power through? Or wait until you feel back to normal? Thanks!!

I normally stay at home, in bed or sofa, reading all the books that queued up until I feel the energy levels are back. Hope you are well soon!

As I state in the guide to the plan, I like to enjoy my running and see no point going out to run if under the weather...........it will be tough and unenjoyable.............yes, I am a wimp.

It takes longer to recover to comfortably manage arduous physical activity than to cope with gentle daily routines.

Give yourself a break and recover fully then have a great return to running.

Thanks! I read in another post where you wrote we don’t lose any conditioning we have built up to for awhile, that is what I was worried about. I will take it easy and not sweat it too much. Thanks again.

No significant condition lost in the first two weeks of non running.

Illness stresses your body as does running and the additional stress can impede recovery.
