Running Trainers and Insoles

Hi there, I’m looking to start C25K. I’m struggling to find running trainers that I can wear with my specialist insoles? I’m a size 5.5 UK and I usually have to try trainers on with my insoles to see how tight they are. Any help is really appreciated, Thanks x

Welcome to the forum and well done on your decision.

This guide to the plan is essential reading healthunlocked.com/couchto5...

and includes advice on minimising impact, stretching after every run, hydration and strengthening exercises, all of which will help.

There is a link to a post about running shoes in the guide.

I would imagine that you need shoes with a fairly large toe box, so Brooks and Nike are broader than Adidas and Asics, in my experience, but you will still have to try them on.

It is wise to get a larger size than your normal sizing, to allow for foot spread when you run.

Enjoy your journey.

I have Brooks trainers, they are excellent for running, once the specialist sports shops are opened again, go for a gait analysis, the person in the shop will then recommend you to buy the shoes from the result of the gait analysis.
