Leg joints are the problem.

I'm at week 3 run 3. I'm in my sixties a little bit overweight but no health issues and moderately active with dog walking and gardening.

When I did wk3 run 2, 2 days ago, I was concerned as when I first started to do the first jog my legs felt 'flat' and dead. Its hard to describe, it felt like anything that was supposed to be springy or cushiony in my joints - like they normally are - had gone. My ankle joints, knees and hips - they felt every stride like a jolt, - like I had no shock absorbers! I had no spring in my joints to take my next step off like I usually have. It was a little bit sore too but I went slowly and carefully and carried on and it wore off mostly by the end, back to normal.

It was only on the jog part that this happened - the walk part had felt totally normal. It was a big surprise to feel like this suddenly when I jogged.

Since then my joints have been a bit sore and stiff to bend down on etc. Not stopping me doing anything really but I am aware of that feeling most of the time. I did this last troubling run on Sunday and I really should do run 3 today, Wednesday.

Is this something I should be carrying on through, should I just go again today, slowly - or should I stop? Really, really disappointed if I have to give up. I am wearing good running shoes.

Quite often when your legs are tired and heavy feeling it’s because you are not hydrated enough. I know because I was like it this morning. I had a low couple of days and lay about, binge watched tv and ate junk and more importantly I did not drink enough water.( and prob too much coffee). I usually drink about 4 pints of water a day plus tea, coffee, squash... and really felt the difference in today’s run

Hope that helps but don’t give up 💕
