Why am I so slow ?

I have completed the couch to 5k, and not for the first time. I am now trying to go out alternate days and put in a constant 30 minutes, Trouble is, my pace is very slow indeed. its taking around 47 minutes to do 3 miles. If I do 1/2 hour it looks from my map that Im only covering 1.65 miles. Any tips on how to proceed please. should I just keep trying to maintain this routine until I improve ? I am 63 .

Congratulations on your graduation, fellow runner.

This guide to post C25k running may be helpful healthunlocked.com/couchto5...

To get faster you need to spend more time running at your easy conversational pace, as explained in the above guide.

What do you need to be faster for? Slow runners live longer womensrunning.com/culture/s...

Keep running, keep smiling

You could just relax and enjoy it! That’s what I did. Then eventually I went to Bridge to 10k and did the version of ju-ju’s Magic Plan that helps you extend the time up to one hour. I loved that. Then I gradually, gradually extended distance to 10 k because I wanted to. And in the end, my “speed” picked up just from more running. But I’m still a tortoise compared to most on here, and I’m fine with that. Run as feels right to you, and enjoy. 😄👍🐢

There is something odd here! If you only cover 1.65 miles in 30 minutes and you keep up the same pace the 3 miles should have taken you 55 minutes! Or another way of looking at it if you did 1.35 miles in 17 minutes then 3 miles should take 38 minutes! Anyway best wishes.

I fail to see your point. I estimated the distance of 1.65 miles and said it was done in 1/2 hour, that is slow, therefore I asked for advice on speeding up.
