Not someone who has ever really liked running or thought I would want to start, but decided with the current pandemic it was probably a good idea to get my body a little bit fitter than it is normally! Occasionally I've decided this before and just gone out 'for a run' trying to keep going as long as possible and have hated it, but really enjoying this one as it builds up so gradually and in the early stages you get lots of walking breaks. This feels so much more achievable and manageable than what I've tried to do before. Hoping this positivity stays as it gets harder and I can keep going with it.
Just wanted to say hello to the community on here (might provide me with a bit of motivation to keep going!).

Hi Kharina like you I was never a fan of running or thought I would enjoy it but I look forward to running. I still find it hard sometimes get out to start but I always feel so good afterwards that I just think about that to get me into my trainers and out the door! I hope you keep enjoying it 😁 Good luck!
Welcome to the forum... great job getting started.
Running until exhaustion is something most of us would hate, though toddlers seem happy to do it, collapse in a heap, recover and go again... oh to be young again! I’m so pleased that you’ve found C25K, especially at this time when fitness is more important than ever. The beauty of this plan is that right from day one your workouts are 28 or so minutes of cardio... while the walk breaks get your legs used to the high impact exercise. So, in week one you’re already nearing 90 minutes of cardio a week, and that gets your fitness levels rising really quickly... and that means the next step up in running should never be a worry.
Have a read of the guide to the plan, covering everything from pacing to the power of positive thinking. healthunlocked.com/couchto5...
You can do this... and as you keep coming back to try running, now you’ve found the right plan, I’m sure that you will. Enjoy your journey
The forum is a great place and full of friendly and motivational people. I am in week 2 and I’ve had loads of great advice and support from people who have graduated ages ago but still take the time to help us newbies. It’s also a good place to get/give support for those of us who are still working up to week 9 and have the understandable concerns along the way.
Hi Kharina - just started my C25K !! Found some good knee strengthening exercises on the NHS website which are useful for us Newbie runners 🏃♀️ good luck with your journey
I've just started too, just finished the second run. But, we did p.e. with Joe Wicks at the weekend and it made me realise how unhealthy I am! Using this time to start this programme too. Husband is home so he can have our 2 kids whilst I run ❤️ good luck and keep going!
