Educating Enid - Time to move!

My inner ego, Enid, has enjoyed all the craft and puzzle, postive feeling past-times. But today it is important to get moving again even if still confined to four walls.

Great to throw myself into stretching and moving even whist doing housework. Can this count as a work out if I put enough effort in?

It worked for the great R.i.P Mr mercury Nilsam it can work for you to, there's so many tasks that involve a little fitness if only for a tweak here and there πŸ‘πŸ‘

Brilliant. Oh we loved Freddie! What a man and what an outfit. Now I may have to sing along with the housework. It wont be "when I'm cleaning windows".

Thank you for that comment, Imc50. Take care. 😎

Housework is a great workout

Nilsam profile image
NilsamGraduateβ€’ in reply toSueAppleRun

It can be... or just a flick of a duster from the couch? 😎

SueAppleRun profile image
SueAppleRunGraduateβ€’ in reply toNilsam

No lol no duster flicking

Nilsam profile image
NilsamGraduateβ€’ in reply toSueAppleRun

Oh ok promise...big stretches and furniture moving. πŸ‘πŸ‘€

Polishing is great for arms, i used to polish a lot until i realised i polish when stressed, i have a lovely oak table that was my mums and after she died i brought it home , poor thing got polished every day for weeks it was so nice and shiny

Nilsam profile image
NilsamGraduateβ€’ in reply toSueAppleRun

Oh I used to love polishing our old oak table (I even used to sit my small daughter on a duster and move her around ...is that child cruelty?) Wiping over s modern table is just not the same. πŸ˜ŽπŸ™ƒ

SueAppleRun profile image
SueAppleRunGraduateβ€’ in reply toNilsam

Ooo I never thought to do that with my daughter and i’m sure it’s not child cruelty

Nilsam profile image
NilsamGraduateβ€’ in reply toSueAppleRun

That was when all I had to worry about was doing house work while looking after one small child. 😎

SueAppleRunGraduateβ€’ in reply toNilsam

I remember those days, and feel incredibly lucky that i had those years home with my children

Have a good day

I’m not sure i can go out for another run or walk today but have felt the housework bug get me so doing that first

NilsamGraduateβ€’ in reply toSueAppleRun

Take care...happy memories πŸ˜ŽπŸ‘

Did the ironing woo hoo, been saving it up as wear jumpers to work in winter so 14 shirts have been hanging and waiting, loud music and 2000 steps later lol

Have a good day

Nilsam profile image
NilsamGraduateβ€’ in reply toSueAppleRun

Very impressed. We should see how many steps we can do just doing house work. A bit tricky tracking but it could be fun. :-)

I do a low squat or single leg dip while cleaning my teeth........so yes, of course you can build in strengthening and flexibility exercises into just about any daily chore.

Oh my what an image! I would probably crack my chin off the sink if I tried that. 🀣🀣🀣

See if you can and then you will know you are getting flexible.

πŸ‘€You have added a new exercise routine for twice a day.πŸ›

Roxdog profile image
RoxdogGraduateβ€’ in reply toIannodaTruffe

Careful with that toothbrush! Makes me think of children running around with lollipops in their mouths (ouch). That said, I stand on one leg whenever I can. Am turning into a heron!

Nilsam profile image
NilsamGraduateβ€’ in reply toRoxdog

Tee hee...to think we are all doing the same thing. πŸ™ˆπŸ‘

Nilsam profile image
NilsamGraduateβ€’ in reply toIannodaTruffe

It is a great image and I do agree. I used to practice my balance on one leg with my eyes shut whilst cleaning my teeth (left leg for top right leg for bottom)...but tended to list towards the bath. Bit dodgy. πŸ‘

Well done for being creative and inventive with your exercise! πŸŽ–

Thank you, Delly-dot. Needs must...as more people at home for longer...definitely equals more mess. πŸ‘

Defo! For sure. Get a boogie going with that housework. About to do the same.

Dog πŸ• in hiding, hates me boogying with the squeegee πŸ’ƒ

Ha ha...I remember that. One day scarpers the other one hides under the sofa. πŸ˜ΉπŸ‘€

Roxdog profile image

My dog hates the vacuum cleaner but strangely doesn't mind the noise of the new treadmill!

Nilsam profile image
NilsamGraduateβ€’ in reply toRoxdog

Well in that case it seems cruel to vacuum and better to run. πŸ•πŸ‘πŸ‘€

Yay Enid is off the couch too!!! There's no hiding from it even with the lockdown theres always a way to keep moving. Gasp - am i going to have to clean my house?????

Nilsam profile image
NilsamGraduateβ€’ in reply toFionamags

Don't worry it's not mandatory. I put the biscuits on the top shelf so at least I had to stretch to get them down. πŸͺπŸ‘Same can be done with wine and glasses. πŸ·πŸ™ˆπŸ‘€

Hi Nilsam, great to see Enid up and moving about, and getting the housework done at the same time πŸ˜‰πŸ€—

Pity l can't employ my evil twin and sit on the sofa. 🀣

Roxdog profile image
RoxdogGraduateβ€’ in reply toNilsam

No, the sofa is only for after the movement and exercise. πŸ˜‚

It’s nice to see Enid helping out. We all need to stick together in this crisis (but only virtually). Housework is a great workout, except ironing, I don’t recommend ironing! 😁. Dancing is good too πŸ’ƒπŸ»πŸ•Ί

Roxdog profile image
RoxdogGraduateβ€’ in reply toWenderwoo

Hate ironing!

Nilsam profile image
NilsamGraduateβ€’ in reply toRoxdog

We have to be excused ironing during social distancing. Surely it's a rule. πŸ˜πŸ‘€πŸ‘

Nilsam profile image
NilsamGraduateβ€’ in reply toWenderwoo

If your standing not sitting to iron...it has to count for something. But no, let's dance in wrinkled clothes instead. πŸ’ƒπŸ’ƒπŸ’ƒI mean who is going to see us.πŸ‘€πŸ‘

Wow what a bonus to find these skills. 😎

Wenderwoo profile image
WenderwooGraduateβ€’ in reply toNilsam

I just meant I don’t do ironing, unless it’s absolutely necessary which is rare ☺️

Nilsam profile image
NilsamGraduateβ€’ in reply toWenderwoo

How very sensible. πŸ˜ŽπŸ‘πŸ‘€

Roxdog profile image
RoxdogGraduateβ€’ in reply toWenderwoo

I had a little dance in the kitchen in my break from the remote working. My brother in Australia is just going into lockdown mode. He's a musician (amateur) and sound engineer and did a rendition of Ghost Town which was brilliant. A nice break from the awful shoulder and backache from working at a less than perfect working set up at home. It hurts!

Nilsam profile image
NilsamGraduateβ€’ in reply toRoxdog

That sounds fantastic. A real family bond moment. πŸ’ƒπŸŽΆπŸ‘€πŸ™ƒ

Oh yes! Enid seems to be running with the vacuum cleaner- go Enid!

Nilsam profile image
NilsamGraduateβ€’ in reply toRoxdog

It was short lived but we did the house and the windows. But the sun started shining so I had to go in the garden again. 😎

Roxdog profile image
RoxdogGraduateβ€’ in reply toNilsam

Well of course - all those squats and arm exercises in the garden - unless Enid enticed you into a deckchair!
