Venturing into the water

Hi All,

Last year on 23 April I had a heart attack. Several hospital stays, 5 stents later and 2 stone less I’ve come a long way.

But the horror of it has receded and I find myself creeping (ok hurtling headlong!) back to my previous bad habits. Since I returned to work in September 2019 I have managed to put on a swift 7lb. This needs to stop now.

I was on a programme of cardiac rehab with a personal trainer, but this ended about the same time as COVID-19 began looking a little concerning.

3 weeks into the current set up, I’m at work full time (Key worker) and I’ve decided to give this C25K a go. I did run 1 last night (although originally downloaded the wrong app so my official Day 1 will be tomorrow). I went to bed with VERY achey legs but feel more human this morning.

I’m not terribly good at cheering others on but hope to use stop ins here to focus my mind. I’ve left the BHF group to tell myself I am NOT a cardiac patient, I’m going to be a fit person instead.

So hello!
