Hi, first time doing C25k, done my first run which was tough. Problem I have is I suffer with tibial tendonitis and have several plantar fibroma’s on the soles of both feet (caused by my job/nhs worker). I attend a podiatry clinic and have custom orthotics, which help. Problem is, will running make it worse? Should I stick to walking? Anyone got the same problem? Any advice greatly welcome. Thank you.

Hi and welcome to the forum 😊 you’ll get plenty of support here. Also, well done on completing your first run. I don’t have any experience with that I’m afraid. What I would say though, is If you’re worried about anything then please go and see your gp first and foremost and they’ll be able to give you the best advice. Good luck 👍🏼
What are they like at your podiatry clinic, can you ask them? They can maybe tell you if you can use your orthotics in your running shoes, or if you'll need different ones, for instance. Have to say I've not had a great experience with gp's, I did much better when I saw a sports physio, (different problem to yours) and I'm still considering a visit to a podiatrist. The physio I see always starts out with exercises for strength and flexibility before resorting to orthotics. I'm pretty sure there are some foot exercises over on the healthunlocked strength & flex site.
Welcome to the forum and well done on getting started.
This guide to the plan is essential reading healthunlocked.com/couchto5...
I would check with your podiatrist, who will be far more knowledgeable about your condition that the bunch of well meaning, but for the most part medically unqualified, total strangers on this forum.
Enjoy your journey.
Thank you everyone for the replies. It wasn’t medical advice I was after, more to see if there was anyone else on here who had the same problem and if they are still able to run. Thank you.
