About breathing

Hi everyone, I'm half way through week 2 and loving running. I never though running would be something i'd ever do after a serious knee injury, but here i am doing it. Though i am slow. My question is breathing, how do i teach myself to take deep breaths. It isnt happening naturally and i get a bit of a headache 🤔

I’m not an expert, but I asked this very same question at about the same point in the programme. The best advice I was given was to stop thinking about it and look around at the view! I trusted my body to get the oxygen it needed as I ran on. I know it becomes more crucial to get your breathing sorted as the programme progresses but I haven’t got to that point yet (just finished Wk7) One other thing that always helps me is to start slow and steady and maintain a regular pace. Good luck - you’ll get great advice on this forum.

Don't overthink it..just run and breathe like you do all the time...slow, steady and at a conversational pace:)

The Run Experience on YouTube is great for this.
