W6R1 was easy?

Am told by the legend Michael Johnson not to start week 6 if I hadn't completed weeks 1-5. I had, he then says we now get serious. Gulp! We've not been serious up til now?

After a 4 hour drive to a hotel on a business park (for work btw), I was ready for a beer, but there is something about this forum that gives me the peer pressure and encouragement needed to motivate. So I set off in an alien world that was a business park I was not at all familiar with. It was dark, but conditions were perfect, for me. Chill in the air, no wind, dry. I am determined not to peek at the runs ahead of each week so let MJ describe them to me as I start them. I find that I audibly um! and ah! and reply out loud, talking to him, hahaha.

I found this run pretty easy by comparison to W5R3... Am I being setup for a surprise? Hope so ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ˜‰. Really into this now. Weight loss is visible, getting nice comments from colleagues at work. Feeling lighter and fitter. A way to go, but in my mind, by the time this is all done, I imagine myself bouncing around like Bambi. Am wary of the challenges this programme still has in store ahead of me though, MJ has inferred as much, so must not get ahead of myself eh?

Well done and particularly well done for not looking ahead too much! That's quite strong willed of you! Just steadfastly following the programme is the best way!

Fantastic stuff! Believe in the programme....you will smash it! The challenges do increase, but so has your fitness, stamina and endurance. ๐Ÿ˜

And....when I started C25K a year ago, people like me, helped me! I couldnโ€™t have run for a bus...have now managed 10k, lost 2 stone, feel fab and have signed up for a half marathon in September! I never thought Iโ€™d get to week 9...! Enjoy the journey...see where it takes you!

I found W6R1 easy too!

I also was just a tad concerned to hear Michael says itโ€™s all getting serious from here on!

Iโ€™m on W8R2, itโ€™s been fun. I reckon youโ€™ll enjoy it - lots!

Nice post. Well done you!

In my mind I run like a gazelle, but I fear it's more akin to a hefferlump.

When the lions come prowling, stick with the hefferlumps ๐Ÿ˜

Where exactly do you run, HeavyFoot? I'm only asking so that I can avoid it. ๐Ÿ˜‰

Really good post, and very well done on your achievements so far.

I admire your restraint in not going for a ๐Ÿบ as soon as you arrive at the hotel, and heading out for a run instead. Itโ€™s so easy to stick with our habits, so well done for not doing so, particularly at this time of year and in unfamiliar surroundings.

Iโ€™m only a few weeks ahead of you, and have noticed similar improvements to the ones you mention .... lost weight, feel stronger, and more confident ( probably thanks to those endorphins).

Good that you found the last run easy, after you got through run 3 of week 5. Iโ€™m about to do run 3 of week 9 today, and all I can say is sticking with the programme prepares you brilliantly for what is next.

Iโ€™m with legend Michael Johnson too, and I sometimes talk back to him too ๐Ÿคฃ. People I run past probably think ( wrongly ) that Iโ€™m one of those yuppie types on a phone call.

Keep going , you are doing great ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿƒโ€โ™‚๏ธ๐Ÿ’ช
