It felt like the gremlins were against me today. Couldnβt get various music apps to play to start with. Couldnβt get the audio for Laura so had to change to Michael. Got music working only for it to stop 15 mins in. So pantaloons to that I ran the rest of the way in silence and thoroughly enjoyed it!
To anybody out there that has doubts about being able to do this, believe me you can. Iβm saying that as a 59 yo woman who had not run at all since being a child. If you have the determination you can do it. It might not be easy, you may come up against some hurdles ( not literally thank goodness), but if you focus, take it slowly, and persevere, you can do this.
Thanks to everybody whoβs liked, commented, and given me support - this is a fantastic forum full of lovely people - something thatβs rare in the world of social media.
Keep running folks, and stay happy πππ
PS The pic is of me just after Michael told me to slow down and start walking, I was walking along laughing to myself like a very strange person indeed!

Well that has really inspired me! Iβm doing W2R1 later today and as always feeling anxious that itβll be too much. Iβll keep remembering your words while Iβm out πͺ
No. Iβm 64, doing parkrunβs. Itβs great. I started from nothing last June.
Woohoo and hooray! ππ
I've been looking forward to seeing this post! Congratulations to you for all your hardwork! What a fantastic photo too - you look so happy! Go get that shiny "Graduate" badge!

Yay! You did it!!!! Congratulations on your graduation π π₯ π₯ and that smile says it all - hope you're grinning like a Cheshire Cat for the rest of the day. βΊ
Well done Wenderwoo , you HAVE smashed it! Brilliant, brilliant news I bet you are chuffed to bits (and deservedly so!) I'm still not getting out because of my cold & cough (but it is only a matter of time) which has the added advantage of 'allowing' me to drink a little more wine. I will raise a glass or two to you tonight in celebration and admiration!
Very well done Wenderwoo, fantastic to see you at the finish-start line. The end of the C25K programme and the start of a new running life (although you could argue that was also 9 weeks ago!)
Really really pleased to have followed you through your journey.
Just had to add to my previous post - thank you so much for your support for my runs - it's been great and so helpful! I hope you enjoy consolidating your runs now! Off grid...
Huge congratulations Wenderwoo, so pleased for you. Itβs a brilliant programme and a huge achievement for anyone who finishes it!! Enjoy your success and good luck with the next running chapterππ»ππ»ππ»ππ»ππ»ππ»
Happy graduation day wenderwoo. I was thinking of wimping out today, because I was intimidated and your accomplishment got me off the couch. Thanks for all of your support and congratulations π from one 50+ lady to another.
Woweeee! Huge congratulations- youβve done it!!! πππ. Get that bottle of bubbly out! I am so pleased that the tendons have behaved and youβve got your badge.
Haha! I walk along laughing to myself too because I listen to a funny podcast on my runs. Itβs a great picture, check you out, out there, doing it π congrats on graduating and not letting the gremlins get you
Fantastic, big congratulations. Iβm reliving my own graduation feeling vicariously through you right now and itβs put a massive grin on my face. Really well done and enjoy the feeling of success!
Congratulations, Wenderwoo. That is brilliant news. You did it. You did it!
You have been such a brilliant inspiration to others on this web site and it is fantastic to see your post and know that you have happily and healthily completed the programme.
Hooraaaaaaaaay! Absolutely brilliant news Wenderwoo. You thoroughly deserve this with your complete determination to conquer your Achilles and nurture it back to be able to achieve this. Hip, hip .................. . Look forward to hearing how your running journey continues. π€π₯³πββοΈππ€ΈββοΈππβ¨π₯ππΎπ₯
How did i miss this earlier, huge congratulations π₯³ thatβs such an achievement for anyone but i think especially us slightly older people, but there is nothing quite like running along with a huge smile feeling like the world is ours. The health benefits of running are so many and itβs such fun
You have worked hard to get here and now a graduate and where will you go from here?
Well done Wendewoo. Iβve been keeping an eye out for thisπ. Shows that patience pays off and the odd injury can be overcome with slowness ππ. Enjoy that feeling and celebrate π
Fantastic Wenderwoo ...congratulations on your graduation, you look really, really happy...nobody said it was easy did they? Some folk sail through it, some folk donβt but however it happens, youβve done it!!! You beat all those gremlins that were trying to spoil it for you too...there was no stopping you!!
You bet everyone on here is lovely, we wouldnβt have it any other way...super duper work xx
Aw, Iβm so glad to see this! You are so supportive on this forum and you paced yourself after injury, so a total π₯³π₯³π₯³ from me! The start of a running career! Remember now itβs the consolidation runs. Lovely to see your excitement in your photo. The new profile picture threw me for a while, I thought it was a fake Wenderwoo!!
Smashed it! So pleased for you graduate π xxxxx
Missed that yesterday, so a belated WOOHOO π₯³π₯³ππWELL DONE YOU! πππββοΈπββοΈπ₯³π₯³ from me!
You look really happy in the pic and so you should, you're an inspiration to everyone on here battling through your Achilles injury and all your positive posts. Hope the feel good feeling is lasting the whole weekend.
Thanks! Iβm just going to consolidate for a few weeks. Iβm pretty slow and only cover just over 3k, so hopefully I can improve on that during consolidation π
Good plan, for what it's worth I did about a month of 3 x 30 min runs a week then added about 10% to one run in a week until that felt comfortable then made that my "regular" run and added another 10% ish to the third if that makes sense......working for me any way.
I found it helpful as it was still some sort of plan to stick to after C25K.
Hope you keep posting your progress + continue enjoying your running, dont worry about pace, nothing wrong with the pace you're at and you might find it increases when you're not looking. πππ
That sounds like a good plan which I might copy βΊοΈ Yes, my pace suddenly got better on the first run of W9 which I thought was a fluke, but all three runs were pretty much identical! At least I can accomplish 3k in 30 mins which is what is required for the Running World Cup due to start soon π
Hey Mig, good to see you, and thank you very much. You were one of the first people I befriended on here starting pretty much at the same time. Thanks for your support, especially during my time on the IC - seeing you go on kept me focused on getting back to it when I could - muchas gracias ππ
Hi Wenderwoo, a late reply I know but many congratulations, especially after all the tribulations. I like the bit about laughing to oneself - I am still chuckling to myself when reflecting on just being able to run again. Best wishes going forward with consolidation
