Thank you Sandra! I have a HM coming up at the end of the month - I needed to see that!
..of course 'you can'! Good luck!π Which HM are you doing btw?
Hi Sandra - I am doing the Vitality Big Half (gulp!). I did the Little Half last year, with all the grans and grandads and tiny tots, but I think this is a different beast.
It's certainly a step up! πͺI have my second Half in May...."gulp"!π§π
This will be my second HM, too. I did the Royal Parks in Oct 2017, then I let my running lapse almost completely, so I have had to get a wiggle on in the last few months. I don't think I have done enough in terms of time or distance - however, I have had a couple of training sessions from a chi running guy called Balavan Thomas, at Run and Become in Victoria, and this has really helped my technique.
My first one was in 2017 too! I had a few months out with a nerve injury due to sciatica (not running related) but this left my left leg weaker and I have worked v hard to redress the balance! Had hoped to do a HM last autumn but it did not work out, so fingers crossed for May!π€
Chi running is not something I know anything about, I'm afraid...will have to google it! π
Hi Sandra
This site gives a bit more information on chi running: chirunning.uk/
I had a couple of one-to-one tutorials, and I have managed to increase my speed even in run-walk, from 8.5 minutes/km to around 7.5 minutes/km.
I LOVE that!
It exactly sums up the difference between my first attempt at C25K and my second (after injury).
One was fear of failure, the other was the joy of opportunity.
So different.
Love this. When I had doubts it was the people on this forum who reminded me that I can do this π
One of my favourites xxx We all need that thought...thank you!
πThank you for this.
Thanks for sharing π
Love it. π
Thanks for that Sandra βΊ
We never know what we're capable of until we try π π
