Week 4 repeated....winner

So after last weeks not so successful week 4, the hills around here getting the better of me, I repeated the week. 3 runs, 3 routes all with hills. Failed all 3 to a degree last week, only less than a minute short of some not all of the runs.

Monday ... worst hill, halfway round, failed by 49 seconds. Did a bit of a sprint uphill at the end to try and make up for it

Wednesday....WINNER! The hill at the end....it didn’t beat me, legs like jelly , wanted to vomit but I kept going. So proud of me ❤️

Friday ...hill at the beginning, 30 seconds to go on the first 3 minute run, somehow felt wobbly and had to slow to a walk. Bugger 🤦‍♀️

So I’m off to find a flatter route, the nights are getting lighter and week 5 is beckoning. I don’t want to fail for a hill, but I definitely feel like stamina is building

Slow down!

Honestly, it doesn't matter how slow you think you're going, you can go slower. Especially up those blooming hills :-).

No prizes for speed here. It's all about duration.

If you're going faster than a walking pace, you're doing it.

But, if you can find a flatter route, I wouldn't blame you at all. But only to build up some stamina, get some confidence back, and then hit those hills again :-).

Happy running!

Literally going slower than slow! I want to beat the hills but I would also like to move on from week 4. I will revisit the hills, I still have the bug, only last week I hated, this week I’m loving again and feeling great even if i didn’t complete totally.

Thanks for the motivation. ❤️

It’s good that you want to challenge yourself, but the plan is a challenge in itself. There’s plenty of time to tackle the hills later, or after you’ve finished the plan. Well done for trying, and good luck with the next one 👍😁

Can’t help but think though how close you were on your hill - 30 wee measley seconds!?!? Maybe one flat day and then one hill day? I’m a laugh - I’ve only attempted the hilly route around my house twice! I drive to a flat route but the time is nigh... I going to do that hilly route!!
