Still moving

Week 2.1 completed no problems. I added an extra section as I was too far from home - I wish the podcast would tell you how many runs you still had to do - although I can see that most people would not like that :-)

I had an extra rest day as my knees were quite sore after week 1. I've found the Knee section on here and links to exercises, so I'll try to keep these up.

Looking forward to Sunday - as long as my knees agree...

I have just done w2r1 and opened the app to talk about xtra rest days and knees! Week 1 actually took me 2 weeks to complete because I couldn’t run eod. Does this make it harder for us? Is it harder to develop fitness and stamina if you run less often?

It doesn’t have to be every other day but leaving long gaps between runs is not ideal. That said, it’s important to take AT LEAST one day off after each run: don’t be tempted to run on consecutive days to catch up on missed runs because that risks injury. One or two days off between runs is ideal for most people, unless a longer break is forced by illness or injury. Three runs a week still allowed a two day break once a week. But if life gets in the way you just have to do the best you can. It’s still better than staying on the couch.

Great you've now completed wk1r2. If you listen there is a bell sound when you're half way, then you can turn around. 😊😊

Yep, that little bell for no apparent reason is actually the half way mark so you know to turn round if it’s an out and back route. It does also tell you on the screen how many runs there are in the workout.

Not sure I've noticed that on the downloaded files, but I'll listen out next time.

Oh are you using the podcast rather than the app? I only ever used the app. The podcasts are older so may not have all the same features.

I guess the clue is in my name 👴

😀Im not a grandpa but I’m more than old enough to be! I chose the app mainly because I found it first but also because you can choose your own music with the app.

I very deliberately left two days between each run. I was keen to avoid injury and I'm sure, as you get older, it takes longer for your body to adapt. It took me 11 weeks to graduate, but I didn't have any problems. I've only recently started running every other day.
