I completed couch to 5K, it was amazing. Now I can’t run. I have a lump in my leg near shin and it stops me running more than a few minuets. Doctor says not shin splints. It’s a noticeable bump! What else could it be and if it is shin splints then how many weeks should I take off?

Did your dr make a helpful suggestion?
Did the doc say what it may be if not shin splints?
If it is SS then you should refrain from running to recover from it properly..
Shin Splints Treatment..
Shin splints can usually be treated at home with plenty of rest and a few simple measures that’ll help to relieve the pain:
Rest – Rest is the most effective way of treating shin splints. The standard recommendation for those suffering with shin splints is to rest from the activity that caused the pain for several weeks (usually at least three weeks).
Ice – Ice can be helpful for dealing with pain and swelling. Wrap the pack (or bag of frozen peas) in a towel and apply to your shin for 10 – 20 minutes at a time.
Pain-relief – Over-the-counter painkillers, such as ibuprofen and paracetamol, can help to relieve the pain.
You don’t have to completely stop exercising while recovering, though. Lower impact activities, such as swimming, cycling, or using the cross-trainer, can help you to maintain fitness levels without putting too much demand on your shins.
How many weekend of should I take I think I took three weeks pre doctor. The doctor wrote shin splints then removed as they couldn’t find an example of a bump on shin following exercise? Will this ever go away?
Bursitis? That stopped me in my tracks at the beginning of the year, too painful so I quit the programme. It can flare up in several places in the body (joints). Mine was just under the knee, my lump was a couple of inches down from kneecap, towards the inside of my leg.
