20 minutes running and I didn’t break my invisible potato crisps! [W5R3]

Very very chuffed with myself this morning - W5R3 done this wonderful chilly morning.

I followed debston’s great advice about the head balloon and holding the invisible potato crisps. It really had an impact on my posture and my shoulders were really relaxed.

With two minutes left to go, I had a choice of left or right, right being flat but a longer walk home, left being the shorter route involving a climb up the bridge over the dual carriageway. I had enough left in the tank to choose left.

A resonating “WAHOO!” may have left my lips when Laura told me I was done.

Glad you enjoyed your run, it’s such a great feeling when you realise you’ve run for that long isn’t it?

Great effort, I thought I was the only one who thought going over a dual carriageway was a hill. The 1st time I did it I was amazed with myself, it soon became just a normal part of the run. Good luck and happy running

Congratulations on completing run 3 of week 5, that is a milestone run with C25K, onwards and upwards to week 6 run 1 but be careful about that run as it catches out some people with the interval walks and runs after the non stop 20 minutes of W5R3 which you have just ran 🏃🏾 😊

You deserve to be chuffed with yourself 😊 🏃🏾

Good morning rnners😁🎈what was the advice given about balloons and crisps to aid good posture when running?

debston replied with the tips on my previous post on here - healthunlocked.com/couchto5...

This was the advice:

“A couple of tips I read for not tensing up, I feel a bit silly doing them but they really seem to work. 1. As you run, imagine a balloon is attached to your head, pulling it up. Your posture will improve as you hold your head high and relax the shoulders. 2. Don't let your hands bunch into fists. Imagine that you are carefully holding a potato crisp between each thumb and forefinger and you don't want to crush it! 🤣 Sounds daft but it really works, ”
