First park run this morning-now I’ve fallen completely in love with it as you all said I would! Lever Hume Park Bolton, warm welcome, great range of runners and walkers, fantastic experience. To be honest, I’m surprised how emotional I feel about it. In a good way. Anyone out there wondering whether to give it a go, my answer is now YES! So one happy C25K guinea pig reporting back as promised. thanks everyone for the encouragement I’m completely buzzing now. Happy running all πŸ˜πŸ‘

Congratulations and very well done on your first parkrun. Glad to hear that it will be the first of many. I did my 56th parkrun this morning and my 31st parkrun this year. There was a charity Tea and Coffee morning afterwards in a local School and a load of fellow parkrunners went along. I undid all the benefits of my run by eating delicious cake 🍰. The best thing about parkrun is the more you do the better it gets as you meet such lovely people at parkrun.

Congratulations to you Damien on completing your 56th parkrun, I ran my 11th this morning.

You deserved to eat that delicious cake, as long as it was after the run, that's OK.

It was after the run. Gorgeous cake. Yum πŸ˜‹. Well done to you too. Double figures. You could chase after the red 50 milestone t shirt in 2020.

That sounds lovely 😊 and the cake well deserved! I’m up for getting more into the social side of it too over the next few months

damienair profile image
damienairGraduateβ€’ in reply toJerichomile

It’s very easy to get into the social side. Little chats at the start line. Post run chats. Post run coffee and cake. And Volunteering. Enjoy

PS make a rule for yourself that when you get a new parkrun PB you go for Breakfast.

Yeah, yeah, yeah! πŸ‘ well done! And welcome to the parkrun family! It’s just fabulous isn’t it, I know what you mean, it expects nothing of you, other than to go along and join in, with a load of other likeminded people, from all walks of life........magic.

I love it.........can you guess...πŸ˜‚

You wait, you’ll be organising your weekend around it before you know it....πŸ˜‰

Yep! I’m 100% with you there Madge50. Plus I think I might have got a few people tuned into this lovely forum too. A couple of people are using the C25K app and hadn’t got into the forum yet. I told them it was fab so hopefully they join

Ah thanks Oldgirlruns. Always so nice to see your posts. I’m glad people stay after graduation rather than leave the forum, it makes for a rich community for sure. Happy running to you πŸ’

Hah, I was waiting for your feedback. Glad you enjoyed it. πŸ‘

I went out for a run at 8 o'clock this morning and thought, why aren't I at the parkrun. Unfortunately, looking at my calendar, I'll have to wait until after Christmas now. Life has a habit of getting in the way.

I thought of your positive encouragement at the second hill this morning 😁!! Life eh, trying to fit it all in is an art. Still, Parkrun will be waiting when you get back.

Ah thanks Debston. Your enthusiasm from your posts helped keep me going during the C25K. yes I sense already

Saturdays have changed forever 😁I’ve been gushing about it all day to a ridiculous number of my (totally non running) family and friends πŸ˜‚......now they look like this 😳😳😳!!

How’s your running these days?

Debston profile image

Aw, that's nice to hear! Running going OK, I have a bit of stamina back and am starting Week 3 of the 10k magic plan on Monday. If I manage the 7k run, I will be very chuffed! Great that you are sharing your enthusiasm with non running friends - maybe you will inspire them to give it a go. ☺
