Nice one Dronemuppet88. I was 20.5 stone when I started and 18.5 stone when I graduated. You can definitely do it, and lose weight along the way. As you say... run on👍

I’m aiming for 15st myself so sure you will get there. Interestingly my gp recently told me that weight loss is about 70% - 80% diet and 20% - 30% exercise, which did surprise me but that still makes the exercise a substantial part of it plus so many other health benefits to exercise.

Congrats for starting! You will find heaps of useful information on here. Definitely read the guide post as well because it is a treasure trove. As you may have seen from comments is that you should run slow and slower again as it is what helps you get through the runs! Happy running and good luck!

Welcome and well done 👏. You've already done the hardest bit when you put your running shoes on and went out the door.

I was over 26 stone when I started and I'm now down to 21.5, running 3 times a week and anything from 2 to 4 miles (currently but this will rise) on each run.

This program will change your life, just take every run slow and steady with the aim of completing that run, don't worry about speed or distance, ignore the 5k part for now.
