week 1 run 3 at the parkrun

I did my first parkrun with Laura and it went OK. I started right at the back so I didn't hold anyone up with my 5 minute warm up walk and I didn't have any music so I still felt connected to the other parkrunners despite my earphones. The weather was cold and drizzly and there were a lot of puddles to avoid! It was funny to overtake some people on my little runs and watch them overtake me back while I was walking. Normally I'm too shy to overtake people but Laura gave me the confidence to just listen to her and do what she told me to do. I didn't have to stop to cough but did a lot of coughing at the end. I think exercise is better than chest physio for me. Once I had recovered, my chest felt clear enough to sing :) I hope I'm up to week 2. Good luck to everyone out there.

Congratulations on doing run 3 of week 1 at parkrun this morning, yes, you overtaking people and then being overtaken is fun.

Most people tend not to run a parkrun until they have completed run 3 of week 5, however, there is no rule about that as I am sure you enjoyed your run today, onwards and upwards to week 2

thank you! I am lucky my parkrun has lots of friendly slowcoaches like me. My son runs parkrun too. He's speedy but he always joins me for the last bit to encourage me home which is my favourite bit.

I see that quite a lot at parkruns, runners who have finished their run, walking or even running back down the course to accompany a friend or family member on the last kilometer or less of the course.
