Endurance training - hill work

My last run was W8R3 and I include small 1-2 steepish hills in my runs. So I thought my endurance is okish. I run the hills slowly

Well today that was put to the test when I went running for the first time with a Canicross group doing their Couch to 5k trg with 6min running 2min walking.

Was I gutted when I had stop in between and had to walk up the hill. Did not help that their speed was quicker than mine. Flat surface was no problem and was able to keep up with the group and their speed

Any tips of other endurance training I can do to prepare myself better before next session- which only be harder next time

Complete C25K at your own comfortable pace.

Speed requires strength and endurance which comes through having miles on your legs............there is no magic shortcut.

Dont beat yourself up about this. You are doing great on this plan, hoping off to a different one suddenly will confuse things. If you count up the actual minutes you've run in the last 8 weeks it's not many, endurance will come. A 9 week plan doesn't mean you can tackle everything. I graduated a month ago and am on week 3 of the 10k plan but still opt not to do hills. Seek out my post yesterday on how to be a normal runner then breathe deep, pat yourself on the back and celebrate your achievements this far. 😀🙆‍♀️👍
