Always considered myself a non-runner .... but just completed W2R2 and am thoroughly enjoying it! Knees a little tender though so will have to watch out. Hoping for improved fitness and to shed some weight.

Great you're now on wk2. Just go slow and slower again if needed and remember to drink lots of water per day and not just on run days about 2-3 litres.

C25k is an amazing plan and really does work you'll get lots of encouragement and support on here good luck. 😊😊

Take ibuprofen - the knee pain will go on a week or so

I have dodgy knees too. Really slowing down my running but walking slightly more briskly seems to have helped. Well done for keeping going 👏👏👏

Well done, such an achievement.

Similar to yourself I had aching, sore and stiff knees too. I found that when i got to week 7 and the non stop running, more so, even though i was joffling slower than a snail!. I decided to ease right up for 2 weeks at that point as it felt like too huge a step up and more than that, i was worried my knees wouldn't cope. I re-run a variety of runs from weeks 4, 5 & 6 and continued with yoga and stretching on rest days. I resumed at w7:r3 and have been taking 2 rest days.... what a difference. I seem to have gained fitness and leg strength from nowhere! I'm W9:R2 tomorrow and graduation is now in my sights. So, listen to your body, redo any runs or weeks if that feels right for you, make sure you stretch after every run and believe you can and will do this 🏃‍♀️. Oh and wow, what a great outdoor space to run!

Wow thanks for the encouragement! I’ve read all the guidelines and will certainly listen to my body and ease back, taking each day at a time. Look forward to reporting on progress and reading your stories 😊
