Hi everyone i have been doing the couch to 5k and managed to get to week 6 run one then i pulled my back and have been putting off running as i was in too much pain. I have just gone out and run week 6 run 2 and manged it though it was very slow and i felt quite uncomfortable because my back isnt 100 per cent right yet. I am worried if i leave it again to recover i am going to lose the cardio i have built up? And the next run is a straight 25 mins and am worried i may damage my back or not make the distance and if i dont make it i know that will demotivate me and i do not need any other excuses not to run !!!!
Any advice please

Hi. I feel your pain. I had to stop running for 6 months last year due to a back injury. Thankfully nothing too serious , but the muscles in my back had gone into spasm and I was twisted. Took months of physio appointments and recovery.
Don’t try to run if your back is too sore or tight. It’s very frustrating I know. I had to start again when I came back. Hopefully you’ll be ok again very soon.
Running is supposed to be enjoyable . Now if you're running with back pain it really isn't going to be good. I understand you don't want to lose fitness but I think the best thing to do is stop all running until you are totally pain free. I know that's not what you want to hear but it is for your own good . Good luck 😊
