Ouch!

I’m over the moon that I’ve just finished week 6, but my knee is so painful! I’ve suffered before and scan showed mild arthritis but it’s unbearable to put any weight on at the moment. I’m using ice, pain relief gel, pain killers and a support bandage. I have done so much better than I ever thought I would that I’m terrified of missing days/runs and having to go backwards. What should I do?

Well done completing week 6. Sorry to hear about your knee... but missing days sounds like it’s now a must. You won’t lose any fitness for two weeks, and maybe you’ll be pain free in a few days. If it takes longer than that to heal, then we need to be thinking which is best... back a week or two or make it worse and then lose more time.

You have proven that you can do this plan... there’s no rush to actually do it... I’d wait until the knee was back to normal.

Great you've got to the end of wk6. For now maybe no running until you're pain free . Good luck 😊

Give it some rest and see what happens. If it doesn't improve then might be worth getting it checked out. Fingers crossed, but no running while it hurts!
