Advice please..

Hello runners.. I completed W6R6 almost two weeks ago before I went on holiday.. Sad to say I've not managed to run while I've been away as its far too hot at 35° and the gym is always packed.. (also the all inclusive buffet has made me 3 stone heavier) so I'm wondering.. Do I try pick up where I left off or shall I just repeat W6? I'm not sure how long it takes for you to lose your stamina and fitness levels!? I know I'll be annoyed with myself if I try W7R1 and can't manage it 😐

It's said you don't lose any fitness over 2 weeks. You could start again with wk6r3 and if that's ok continue with wk7. Good luck and hope you enjoyed your holiday 😊

Thank you I may just do that if your fitness levels stay the same for 2 weeks.

As above... you won’t have lost any fitness and your legs will be nice and fresh... slow and steady at the start and ease back into your happy pace.

Hi Sally, glad you had a great holiday, sounds hot though!🌞

You completed W6 R3 before you went but which run do you feel like doing as your first one back?

WK6 R2 maybe, as a confidence builder, then back to the continous runs after that, there is nothing wrong with a practise run or repeating runs, see how you feel and go for it!

Good luck !😊x

It was fab thanks and very hot!

I was thinking of starting W6 again but I don't want to feel like I'm taking a step back.. but then again I don't want to try steam ahead and fail as it will knock my confidence! I'll see how I feel on the day I guess but thank you for the advice 🏃‍♀️

I agree with all the previous comments about maybe repeating a run or a week to build up confidence & a routine again. I lost motivation after a holiday and am repeating a week to help get me going again (its working! Is re establishing a routine & rebuilding my confidence).

Also just think how amazing it is that you've got to Week6, what a great achievement! Good luck with getting going again!!
