Good afternoon fellow runners. I have read somewhere that people use a metronome app, any recommendations please? I'm trying to improve my time for 5K.

Metronome app

AlMorr uses one, I hope he sees this and lets you know which one

I use Run Tempo on my iPhone. I think it was free. Simple but effective.

I use True Metronome app. You can run other apps in the background whilst it’s going.

Almorr here CharliesMum11, regarding a metromone app, yes I use one from Google Android Play Store for my Android Smartphone, its the Metronome Beats app, you can set it from 1 to 300 beats/steps a minute, for us runners anything from 150 to 170 beats a minute is ideal, however, your stride is also important but with the app ticking away it does help you with your running, I can run a 5k in around 33 minutes at 172 beats a minute but recently I have set it at 162 steps a minute for my longer runs, at 162 I ran a 5k in just over 36 minutes, 6k in around 44 minutes and 7K in around 51 minutes, as training for a 10K in a few weeks time, as you can see I have been increasing 1K a week using the app at 162 steps a minute, this Wednesday I will try to run 8K, that should take around a hour, 9k the following Wednesday should be around 68 minutes and finally there days later I will 'attempt' a 10K and should be around 75 minutes, I will report my progress here on C25K, although it should be Bridge210K, but I will keep it on here for the moment..
