Hi I’m on week 7 I run slowly very slowly but at the end of my run I pick the pace up. This makes me feel more comfortable and I find it easier!!

But I’m scared to start off a this pace for fear of running out of steam so stuck with the shuffle not daring to quicken. Anybody else felt this ?

Yes definitely! Don't worry, I start off at a slow pace and go to a quicker one if I feel I have it in me about half way through the run. Sometimes I do, sometimes I don't. I should think this is quite normal. How are you finding it? I just finished week 7 today myself.

Fortunately pace, speed, distance, time have no role in this wonderful programme. All you have to do is complete the session and go home

Slow jogs, and rest days, build runner’s legs 🙂

Speed comes with strength, and it can take quite some time to get strong so patience is a virtue. All good things .....

also, the slower you go,the fewer injuries you’re likely to get 👍🙂

Enjoy yourself and have fun with your running Let us know how you progress

Good luck 😃

Finding the sustainable pace is the most crucial part of running and one of the most difficult for many runners. What you are doing is good practice and is the way that pros run races, doing what is called negative splits......ie. running the first half of a race slower than the second.

You’re actually being utterly professional - starting slower and then speeding up. Start fast, you may blow up... slow starts are good! Well done you for sussing this out so early on and I am serious about that, a lot of us think that we should be going quicker, sooner and it’s just not true...
