I’m looking for a bit of advice on whether I should be concerned.
I graduated the programme about a month ago and then had a few weeks off. My mum and I have started to get back into it by dropping down to the x2 10 min runs with the 3 minute walk in the middle and then after a few we did the 20 minute solid run.
I’m finding that my knee and hip pain are back (all down my left side) and I’m unsure of whether I should be worried. When I’m running it doesn’t hinder me really it’s just when I stop and during the day. I seize up a bit when I’m sat still and it gets a bit uncomfortable.
Should I get this checked out? I think I’m apprehensive because I feel like they’re going to say what I know deep down, that it’s because of my weight.

I've been having hip/back/knee problems since early July - put off going to docs as it would feel better with rest and then I'd go for a run and set it all off again. Wish I'd gone to see doc sooner - definitely worth getting an appt. Mine referred me to a physio and I now have several physio exercises to be done daily and starting to feel like it's making a difference. I'm overweight (obese actually) too and expected doc to say that was a factor but he just said maybe I needed to ease back into it when ready and that there was no reason I shouldn't be getting back to running very soon. I'd convinced myself he was going to say no more running again ever so I was very pleased to hear him sounding very positive about all the health benefits. Don't be like me and put off making an appt - it's worth getting checked over properly.
Sometimes knee pain is referred pain from tight hip muscles. Whatever is causing your pain it’s definitely worth getting checked as Debston says. I have a similar issue and recently had a full gait analysis and strength tests done by a sports physio. It transpires that my right leg is very much weaker than the left one, but few people are perfectly symmetrical. So strengthening exercises for me from now on. A physio specialist will be able to assess your situation and offer specific advice and tailored exercises to work those muscles which are feeling sore.... good luck! I hope you find a solution.
Hey Dani, I get hip pain and when I lose weight, it goes. Not what you want to hear, I know, but there we are. Good news is, run a few times a week and you will lose some! Get it checked by your G.P, they always advise that... 🙄
