I’ve been plodding away at C25K for what feels like forever, but I’ve been really enjoying it. I’ve noticed that a pattern has emerged where I go for my run then two or three days later I start with a sore throat and bunged up nose that quickly develops into a cold. I’ve never felt so ill so frequently! The outside weather doesn’t seem to make a difference - it happened in winter, and now it’s still happening. This doesn’t happen with other exercise that I do. Has anyone else experienced this/have any ideas of what I can do to prevent it? It’s so frustrating!

Hiya
I've not experienced this myself and I'm not a medical expert but.... It sounds like you are generally just run down. Are you sleeping enough? What's your diet like? (mine is truly shocking I'll admit!). I was going to suggest allergens such as pollen maybe but you say it isn't weather related? Do you run in a congested area? Car pollution maybe?
Where are you up to with c25k?
Sorry, many questions and no answers!
Thanks for taking the time to think about it!
Sleeping is one of my favourite things, so no problems there! My diet could be better, so that’s worth trying. You might have a point about car pollution- I’m in a city and my usual run routes take me along some busy roads. I did complete the programme some years ago without the same issue - but l did it in the gym rather than outside 🤔.
I’ve finally managed to get to W9R2, after many months of stop/start. Having had a month of so off I’ve dropped back to do a few of the earlier runs again before I tackle the final W9 one - so nearly there!
